What is ‘Ballet of Lights’?
Ballet of Lights is an abridged version of the original Sleeping Beauty ballet composed over 130 years ago. And the magic doesn’t stop at the dancing. At this show, the century-old tale is given a luminous twist thanks to the glow-in-the-dark ballerina costumes. Every plié and pirouette is illuminated by hundreds of LED lights embellished on their arms, tutus and tiaras.
Sleeping Beauty
Rooted in European folklore, The Sleeping Beauty first appeared in Charles Perrault’s La Belle au bois dormant in 1697, before being retold by the Brothers Grimm as Little Briar Rose. The tale made its ballet debut in 1890, brought to life through Tchaikovsky’s score and Marius Petipa’s choreography. More than a century later, this iconic ballet is reawakened at Ballet of Lights in Orlando, where timeless elegance meets imaginative staging for a truly sparkling performance.
